We’re looking for an organised and community-focused Centre Support Officer to help with the day-to-day running of Benchill Community Centre on a part-time basis. This is a varied role for someone who enjoys coordinating activities, supporting customers and community partners, and using accurate financial and performance information to help a valued local facility thrive.

You’ll work 21 hours across three days each week. There is some flexibility when agreeing which days will be worked before appointment. Once agreed, the working pattern is expected to remain broadly consistent.

What you’ll be doing

  • Coordinating bookings, activities, customer enquiries and administration to support the smooth running of the Centre.
  • Helping to increase use of the facilities, generate sustainable income and deliver positive outcomes for the community.
  • Supporting funding applications and monitoring grant-funded activities, including gathering evidence and reporting outcomes.
  • Processing financial transactions, monitoring budgets and maintaining accurate financial and performance records.
  • Producing clear reports on occupancy, activities, funding and finances to support effective decision-making.
  • Providing administrative and governance support to the Benchill Management Committee, helping maintain accurate records and meet relevant regulatory requirements.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience supporting a community facility, charity, customer-facing service or similar environment.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to coordinate bookings, activities and competing priorities.
  • Experience of financial administration, budget monitoring or maintaining accurate financial records.
  • An understanding of funding applications, grant management or performance monitoring.
  • Confidence analysing information and producing clear, accurate reports.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a welcoming, collaborative and practical approach to working with customers, colleagues, funders and community partners.

Additional information

  • The successful applicant will be required to complete a DBS check.
  • A driving licence is required.
  • Some flexibility in working hours may be needed to support the requirements of the Centre.

Why this role matters

You’ll help ensure Benchill Community Centre remains welcoming, well organised and financially sustainable. By supporting community activities, funding opportunities and effective governance, your work will contribute directly to the Centre’s long-term success and the positive outcomes it provides for local people.

If you enjoy bringing people and processes together and want to help a community facility make the greatest possible impact, we’d love to hear from you.
