We’re looking for an enthusiastic and people-focused Resident Involvement Officer to join our Customers & Communities team.

This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about ensuring residents have a genuine voice in the services that affect them. You’ll bring people together, create inclusive opportunities for involvement and help residents influence decisions, while building strong relationships across WCHG and our communities.

What you’ll be doing

  • Coordinating resident involvement activities, events, forums and customer panels, ensuring residents have meaningful opportunities to shape services.
  • Recruiting and supporting a diverse range of residents to get involved, with a particular focus on reaching underrepresented groups.
  • Supporting and developing resident volunteers, including coordinating opportunities, inductions and training.
  • Championing digital engagement through social media and other platforms, helping make involvement more accessible.
  • Building strong relationships with colleagues and external partners to support resident involvement and wider community initiatives.
  • Using data, feedback and impact reporting to demonstrate outcomes and continuously improve how we engage with residents.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience delivering excellent customer service within resident involvement, community engagement or a similar environment.
  • Experience coordinating involvement activities or volunteer programmes and supporting people to participate effectively.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage people at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records.
  • Confidence using IT, social media and digital engagement tools.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality, with an inclusive and respectful approach to working with residents and volunteers.

A housing-related qualification is desirable, alongside evidence of continued professional development.

Additional information

  • The role requires regular flexibility to lead and attend evening meetings outside normal office hours.
  • A full driving licence is preferable.
  • The successful applicant will be required to complete a DBS check.

Why this role matters

Resident involvement is about more than asking for feedback. You’ll help create meaningful opportunities for residents to influence decisions, share their experiences and shape how services develop.

By building trust, encouraging participation and making involvement accessible and inclusive, you’ll help strengthen the resident voice and ensure customers remain at the heart of how we improve our services.
